#2a

I just wanted to post a follow up to my #2 post. I feel as if I didn't make myself clear. I was not questioning my 'faith' (Apostolic Christian denomination). The post was more of a reminder that we should meditate on the fundamentals of our faith in Christ, what He did for us, how we can live in His grace in an evil world, and how we can be a light to this evil world. I hope this clears things up.

Gray as a background color makes it hard to read. I think reading publications like Voice of the Martyrs is a good way to focus on the fundamentals.

I was not in church Sunday morning so did not get to hear the sermon. But I sometimes wonder is it because we are followers of Christ (saved by grace) that we do not want a strict law to follow or is it because of our Western culture in which we are these believers? It is definitely the Western culture to not want to be tied down to rules and I think sometimes that carries over to our Christianity and we tend to mix the two.

Jesus said himself that he didn't come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. Now I am not suggesting we need to go back to the Old Testament law but I also don't think it is wrong to be guided by a set of rules/fundamentals/principles.

I don't mind the gray background - it's manly and hard to read or not, its a good break from all those fruity girly backgrounds that we have been subjected to for so long by our better halves.

I never got to see the grey. :( I'm sad now. Again, an anonymous post. Sheesh.

Anyways, my thoughts on your subject....

1. I never got that you were questoning your faith.

2. I think focusing/understanding the fundamentals is very important. That is why they are called fundementals, they are foundational and you can't go on without them. (not that this answers your question, just lending my support here)

3. I have never read the "winds of doctrine" If you could stand to take it off your stand (aren't I hilarious) I wouldn't mind skimming/reading it. To be honest though, I would take it as interesting reading and won't accept everything it says as pure fact without a bit of research and discernment. (and yes I have a reason for that, but that is another time, another place, email me if you are concerned)

- Sidenote: I like making bulleted/numbered lists, they are so organized and "Manly." You never see bulleted lists when women are typing.
